Description:
Power systems engineering includes the planning, design, development, testing, installation, and co-ordination of related activities involving HV electrical systems and the main components. It also co-ordinates activities internally and with other groups to effectively accomplish objectives requiring knowledge of associated functions and related engineering fields. Use computers and selected programs for such matters as preparing reports and conducting analyses, e.g., cable calculations.
Independently and leading other engineers, perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices, towards set goals. Lead, plan, conduct and coordinate a range of complex engineering activities encompassing one or more engineering disciplines. Serve as consultant to management and customers regarding advanced technical studies, their potential application and the resolution of complex problems. Coordinate major engineering tasks of substantial impact to HITACHI ENERGY. Proactively develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction.
Minimum requirements of education and experience:
• Minimum six (6) years of work experience within the relevant field including leadership/management and a bachelor or master’s degree or
• Another technical degree with more than 15 years of work experience within relevant field.
• Working command of the English language.

We are looking for a Project Manager Engineering to join our substations PME team in Västerås, Sweden.
As Project Manager Engineering (lead engineer) you play an important role in our substation projects. This means leading the engineering work in our customer projects, normally electric power substations installations in the range from 10-400kV.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the project engineering team to deliver results in accordance with contractual agreements, quality standards, HSE requirements, financial targets and schedule commitments.
- Manage the engineering related coordination with customer, sub-supplier and internal/external partners.
- Plan and manage engineering resources by following the governance procedure of Hitachi Energy.
- Manage the communications with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify the risk & opportunity, make contributions to the continuous improvement works.
- A bachelor’s degree or above in the area of electrical or mechanical engineering.
- At least 10 years professional experience in substation 10-400kV engineering or projects.
- Experience from both Medium and High Voltage 10-400kV substation projects.
- Experience from Svenska kraftnät 400kV substation projects.
- Experience from GIS (Gas insulated substation) projects.
- Experience from substation tenders.
- Experience from site works is an advantage.
- You are fluent in Swedish and English, written and spoken alike.
- You live in Västerås, Sweden. Full time work at Hitachi office in Västerås.
- Swedish citizen (due to security checked projects).
EXPLANATION ON LEVELS:
Levels with numbers (1-5): Increasing experience from 1=Very Junior up to 5=Very Experienced
Levels with letters (A-F): Increasing experience from F=Very Junior up to A=Very Experienced

PLEASE NOTE: From the offered hourly rate, the contractual fee of 4.23% (MSP 2,13% + KeyMan 2,1%) will be deducted.
If we end up in a contract the consultant must undergo a drug test before the assignment can start. The consultant then also must have a certificate for SSG-Entré and sign a NDA.
The assignment is 100 % Onsite.
