We are now looking for a SE_R&D Software Development – Senior Engineer (Level 3)  to Hitachi Energy Sweden AB in V\u00e4ster\u00e5s.<\/p>\n

Description:<\/strong>
R&D Software development consists of requirement management, software design, Design reviews and functional verification. Besides meeting the functional requirements non-functional requirements such as cost, quality and time target shall be met. Work processes and associated tools are provided and the expectation is that processes are followed and provided tools are used unless other agreements are made.<\/p>\n

Independently perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices, towards set goals. Plan, conduct or coordinate a range of complex engineering activities encompassing one or more engineering disciplines. Conduct or coordinate complex analyses, advanced technical studies and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices and business considerations as well as potentially legal and other agency requirements.<\/p>\n

Minimum requirements of education and experience:<\/strong>
\u2022 Minimum six (6) years of work experience within the relevant field and a bachelor or master\u2019s degree, or
\u2022 Another technical degree with more than 15 years of work experience within relevant field.
\u2022 Working command of the English language<\/p>\n

<\/strong>We are looking for a senior embedded software developer to build and maintain real-time Linux\u2013based systems (PREEMPT_RT) with strict requirements on determinism, performance, and reliability. You will work as part of a cross functional Scrum team delivering high-quality embedded software.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities:
<\/strong>\u2022 Develop and optimize real-time Linux applications in substation automation domain.
\u2022 Work across user space and kernel space, including drivers and system integration.
\u2022 Drive software quality through test automation, code reviews, and continuous improvement of development practices.
\u2022 Analyze and improve resource utilization, latency, jitter, and scheduling behavior.
\u2022 Debug complex issues using low-level Linux and hardware tools.
\u2022 Actively contribute in Scrum ceremonies.<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/strong>
\u2022 Strong experience with embedded Linux and real-time concepts.
\u2022 Proficiency in C++ and Linux system programming.
\u2022 Solid understanding of scheduling, interrupts, and concurrency.
\u2022 Solid understanding of ethernet and communication protocols, specifically IEC 61850, IEEE 1588 PTP & IEC 62439-3 ethernet redundancy protocols.
\u2022 Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in an agile environment.
\u2022 Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.<\/p>\n
