We are now looking for a SE_Power Systems Engineering – Senior Principal Engineer (Level 5)  to Hitachi Energy Sweden AB in V\u00e4ster\u00e5s.<\/p>\n

Description:
<\/strong>Power systems engineering includes the planning, design, development, testing, installation, and co-ordination of related activities involving HV electrical systems and the main components. It also co-ordinates activities internally and with other groups to effectively accomplish objectives requiring knowledge of associated functions and related engineering fields. Use computers and selected programs for such matters as preparing reports and conducting analyses, e.g., cable calculations.<\/p>\n

Tasks and qualifications required extended beyond Senior and Principal Engineer above.<\/p>\n

In addition, the below minimum requirements of education and experience:<\/strong>
\u2022 Well documented (10+ years) experience in relevant Engineering field
\u2022 On a national level unique competence relevant to the special q qualifications and requirements for the assignment
\u2022 Other factors which can qualify is a post-graduate degree (Doctor degree) in a relevant area or other documented credentials.<\/p>\n

***Job Description:<\/strong>
The candidate is expected to present a wide experience in protection and control systems for MV\/HV AC substations, and shall be able to take on the role as AC Protection and Control Lead Engineer for the AC part of HVDC stations. Typical competency requirements are:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Good understanding of relay protection schemes – including protection, control, measurement, and supervision functionalities.
\u2022 Knowledge in various brands of protective relays (such as Hitachi, ABB, Siemens, GE) and application of the same.
\u2022 General knowhow in protection and control panel design, including typical business requirements and best practices.
\u2022 Experience from power systems studies and grid codes, have the ability to evaluate correctness of protection coordination and setting calculations.
\u2022 Good understanding of configurations and testing requirements for protection systems.
\u2022 Experience from reading technical specifications and managing sub-suppliers.<\/p>\n

The AC Protection and Control Lead Engineer <\/strong>will be technical responsible for definition, costing and delivery of AC protection and control solutions in tender work as well as in execution projects. Detailed design and manufacturing will be sourced to sub-suppliers. Typical main tasks are:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Translate customer specifications and protection schemes into conceptual design, and formulating clear requirements to our sub-suppliers.
\u2022 Evaluate sub-supplier quotes based on the specified requirements and future design.
\u2022 Continuously monitor the design and manufacturing process, as well as leading the design team in the dialogue with our customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
\u2022 Review of detailed protection panel design, including interfaces to main components as and intercommunication links.
\u2022 Ensure compatibility between functional requirements, panel design, relay configuration and settings prior to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
\u2022 Review suppliers test program and supervise Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
\u2022 Remotely assist installation and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) as needed.
\u2022 The role will report to the Electrical Design, AC Protection and Control team manager within the HVDC automation group.<\/p>\n
