Övergripande uppdragsbeskrivning
Description:
R&D Software development consists of requirement management, software design, Design reviews and functional verification. Besides meeting the functional requirements non-functional requirements such as cost, quality and time target shall be met. Work processes and associated tools are provided and the expectation is that processes are followed and provided tools are used unless other agreements are made.
Independently perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices, towards set goals. Plan, conduct or coordinate a range of complex engineering activities encompassing one or more engineering disciplines. Conduct or coordinate complex analyses, advanced technical studies and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices and business considerations as well as potentially legal and other agency requirements.
Minimum requirements of education and experience:
• Minimum six (6) years of work experience within the relevant field and a bachelor or master’s degree, or
• Another technical degree with more than 15 years of work experience within relevant field.
• Working command of the English language.

For our research and development team at Transformers we are looking for a Senior Software Developer with a partial background in embedded systems for a project to build a control unit for automated imaging and image processing for a quality control process in manufacturing. You will join our team at Technology Center in Ludvika.
Your responsibilities:
The assignment includes integration of a system with existing hardware on machines and achieving a synchronization of data with machine movements via PLCs. You will also be involved with setting up detection and measurement of material flow and assessing sensor technologies for doing so. This will also implement logic that manages quality control and on an abstract level assesses positioning in manufacturing. The control unit must also keep machine operators informed and alert in the event of faults, etc.
You will work closely together with a developer with whom you will have the support you need to build modules that will integrate and communicate with each other through various protocols. We intend for this person to also assist with building databases that will support storage of image data that is flowing through the system.
Your background:
- At least 5-6 years of work experience within the relevant field and a bachelor’s or master’s degree or higher in engineering.
- Or another technical degree with +10 years of work experience within relevant field.
- Working command of the English language.
- Some knowledge in AI and ML is a bonus.
Practical information about the position:
This contract is for at least 6 months or more and some presence will be at the Hitachi Energy factory in Ludvika, Sweden.

Remote work – yes with travel to site.

If we end up in a contract the consultant must undergo a drug test before the assignment can start. The consultant then also must have a certificate for SSG-Entré and sign a NDA.
The assignment is possible virtual/remote WITHIN SWEDEN – with travel to site.
