We are now looking for a SE_Testing & Laboratory Specialist-E (R&D Verification & Validation ENGINEER – qual level 2 or 3) to Hitachi Energy Sweden AB in Västerås.

R&D VERIFICATION AND VALIDATION
R&D Verification and validation (V&V) consists of being part of verification and validation planning, execution, documentation of results and communication of results back to our design teams. Verification and validation is conducted within the following technology areas, Electronics Hardware, Software, Field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and Mechanics. Work processes and associated tools are provided, and the expectation is that processes are followed and provided tools are used unless other agreements are made.

ENGINEER (qualification level 2)
Under general guidance of supervisor or more experienced engineer, perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices. Pursue initiatives to improve effectiveness of the group and increase customer satisfaction or full fill legal or other agency requirements.

Minimum requirements of education and experience:
• 2-6 years of work experience within the relevant field and a bachelor or master’s degree, or
• Another technical degree with 10-15 years of work experience within relevant field.
• Working command of the English language.

ENGINEER (qualification level 2)
R&D Verification and validation (V&V) consists of being part of verification and validation planning, execution, documentation of results and communication of results back to our design teams. Verification and validation is conducted within the following technology areas, Electronics Hardware, Software, Field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and Mechanics. Work processes and associated tools are provided, and the expectation is that processes are followed and provided tools are used unless other agreements are made.

Perform type testing, i.e EMC, Climatic, Safety, Mechanical and Electrical tests according various IEC/IEEE standards, e.g. IEC 61000-4 series (EMC), IEC 60068-2 series (climatic), IEC 61010-1 (safety), on Protection & control products with high complexity during product development prior product release. The products are based on various scalable hardware & software platforms as an embedded system with various hardware modules like CPU boards, Input/Output boards, measurements boards, communication modules etc.
Both in inhouse R&D lab and at external labs.
Work in a team which consists of four type test engineers and a type test lead in collaboration with other hardware and software development teams.

As a type test engineer responsible for:
• Configuration of the product before test according to specifications and standards.
• Establishment of test setup with auxiliary equipment, wiring, and supervision (e.g. oscilloscopes and PC tools).
• Execution of tests according to standards.
• Reporting and documentation of test results in Microsoft office tools (Word/Excel).
• Electrical safety during the tests.

Required background:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Knowledge about hardware design and embedded system development.
• 3 years of practical work experience of testing laboratory work in above areas or similar.
• Good knowledge on how to do measurements and practical work with e.g. oscilloscopes, multimeters etc.

English speaking – mandatory
Swedish speaking – not mandatory, but would be nice to have.

PLEASE NOTE: From the offered hourly rate, the contractual fee of 4.23% will be deducted. For longer assignments, the tenure discount will also be deducted from the hourly fee.

Rules for tenure discount (see also enclosed “Terms for consulting assignments at Hitachi Energy Sweden AB via KeyMan 2022-11-22”):
6 months assignment: -1%
9 months assignment: -2%
12 months assignment: -4%

If we end up in a contract the consultant must undergo a drug test before the assignment can start. The consultant then also must have a certificate for SSG-Entré and sign a NDA.

The assignment is Onsite.
