Övergripande uppdragsbeskrivning

• Handle participant management.
• Serve as the data‑collection channel using a conversational chatbot.
• Work with a REDCap study platform.

• Use Swedish language throughout. 
• Show each participant a clear checklist of steps and what comes next.
• Let participants give consent and receive invitations and reminders at the right times.
• Support two short diet recalls on the same day, with at least a three‑hour gap between them (the app should only unlock the second step after the wait).
• Allow basic rescheduling if a participant cannot do it at the planned time.
• Mark each step as ”done” so study staff can follow progress.
• Include a brief help/contact page.

• Support with the installation in the Karolinska Institute’s premises and app distribution channels.
• Basic technical support during recruitment and follow‑up, and a light usability check.
• All the app modifications must be available for Android and iOS versions.
• Deployment of a test version for our pilot, simple distribution to participants, and short user guides (staff and participants).
• Light support during the pilot to fix minor issues.

Skallkrav

At least five years of professional experience delivering cross platform mobile applications for Apple and Android in healthcare or academic settings.
Demonstrated integrations with REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) using the official application programming interface with secure authentication, in at least two research deployments.
Hands on experience designing, implementing, and hardening conversational user flows guided by large language models, including reliable extraction of data into structured fields.
Proven ability to adapt applications for older adult usability (accessibility, readability, and error tolerant flows) and to run moderated pilots.
Secure application distribution through enterprise or developer accounts; ability to build and maintain server side components (for example, in Python or Node.js); and experience setting up automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
Excellent written and spoken English.

Börkrav

Familiarity with Swedish food data sources (Swedish Food Agency—Livsmedelsverket—food composition database and GS1 Validoo) and Swedish user experience conventions.
Prior work on dietary assessment or nutrition related mobile tools.
Swedish language skills.

Övriga krav

The supplier certifies that professional liability and consultancy insurance is in place, covering this type of assignment in accordance with industry standards.
Compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and Karolinska Institutet’s information technology and security policies; all data processing and hosting must remain within the European Economic Area.
Willingness to sign a confidentiality and non disclosure agreement and, if needed, a data processing agreement.
No subcontracting outside the European Economic Area without prior written approval.
Liability insurance and two references from academic or clinical settings.
Acceptance of Karolinska Institutet’s intellectual property and publication terms applicable to research collaborations.
