Description:
R&D Software development consists of requirement management, software design, Design reviews and functional verification. Besides meeting the functional requirements non-functional requirements such as cost, quality and time target shall be met. Work processes and associated tools are provided and the expectation is that processes are followed and provided tools are used unless other agreements are made.
Independently perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices, towards set goals. Plan, conduct or coordinate a range of complex engineering activities encompassing one or more engineering disciplines. Conduct or coordinate complex analyses, advanced technical studies and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices and business considerations as well as potentially legal and other agency requirements.
Minimum requirements of education and experience:
• Minimum six (6) years of work experience within the relevant field and a bachelor or master’s degree, or
• Another technical degree with more than 15 years of work experience within relevant field.
• Working command of the English language

Additional Hiring Information for Supplier:
We are looking for a senior embedded software developer to build and maintain real-time Linux–based systems (PREEMPT_RT) with strict requirements on determinism, performance, and reliability. You will work as part of a cross functional Scrum team delivering high-quality embedded software.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and optimize real-time Linux applications in substation automation domain.
• Work across user space and kernel space, including drivers and system integration.
• Drive software quality through test automation, code reviews, and continuous improvement of development practices.
• Analyze and improve resource utilization, latency, jitter, and scheduling behavior.
• Debug complex issues using low-level Linux and hardware tools.
• Actively contribute in Scrum ceremonies.
Requirements:
• Strong experience with embedded Linux and real-time concepts.
• Proficiency in C++ and Linux system programming.
• Solid understanding of scheduling, interrupts, and concurrency.
• Solid understanding of ethernet and communication protocols, specifically IEC 61850, IEEE 1588 PTP & IEC 62439-3 ethernet redundancy protocols.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in an agile environment.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.
NOTE!
Office work in Västerås. Remote setup not feasible.
Start after summer – preferably beginning or mid-August.
Extension – to be decided during assignment.

PLEASE NOTE: From the offered hourly rate, the contractual fee of 4.23% (MSP 2,13% + KeyMan 2,1%) will be deducted.
If we end up in a contract the consultant must undergo a drug test before the assignment can start. The consultant then also must have a certificate for SSG-Entré and sign a NDA.
The assignment is Onsite.
