About the assignment
We are looking for an experienced Jira solution engineer, who has proven knowledge around Jira Service Managment in cloud as a specific product.  You will work with building, managing, maintaining and continuously improving our Atlassian environment, with a primary focus on Jira SM Cloud and Confluence Cloud. The role involves hands-on administration, workflow optimization, automation design, and user support — bridging the gap between platform governance, business needs, and technical implementation.

The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the foundations in Jira Service Management Cloud and DC, combined with a working knowledge of scripting concepts such as JavaScript, Python or other relevant language, to support automation activities.

As a Jira Solutions Engineer, you will be the cornerstone of our Atlassian ecosystem, ensuring that Jira SM supports business operations and evolves alongside organizational needs.

You’ll work hands-on with configuration, automation, and platform management, including data management and integrations to source systems such as Entra ID — combining administrative expertise with a technical mindset.

Your understanding of Jira Service Management Cloud coupled with your basic programming knowledge will enable you to deliver robust and flexible solutions.

By staying close to the baseline product and using out-of-the-box functionality, you will aim to minimize complexity and avoid technical debt, as you collaborate with IT, development, and business teams to improve processes, enhance reporting, and ensure Jira remains a reliable and scalable platform for all users.

Postnord Group AB operates on the principle of flexible workplaces but with a physical presence of about 3 days a week, agreed upon together with the client.

Role and responsibility:

  • Handle the administration and configuration of Jira Service Management Cloud and related Atlassian products.
  •  Manage project setups, workflows, screens, fields, permissions, notification schemes, and other system related functions.
  •  Implement and maintain automation rules to streamline processes and reduce manual work.
  •  Support analytical work for possible implementations of Rovo and Atlassian Intelligence.
  •  Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and translate them into Jira solutions.
  •  Ensure data consistency, system performance, compliance and adherence to governance standards.
  •  Support integrations with third-party systems and tools using REST APIs and connectors.
  •  Document environment setup and changes. 
  •  Act as a trusted advisor on Jira best practices, scalability, and change management.
Tasks:
  •  Configure and maintain Jira Service Management Cloud projects.
  •  Design and optimize workflows, issue types, and automation rules using Jira Automation, Rovo, ScriptRunner or third-party apps (if required).
  •  Manage user permissions, groups, and roles for secure and structured access control.
  •  Be able to use ScriptRunner for advanced automations and validations, where automations are not sufficient.
  •  Collaborate closely with stakeholders, project managers, and product owners to align Jira setups with team processes.
  •  Proactively monitor and evaluate platform performance, updates, and new features in Atlassian Cloud.
  •  Facilitate education and training sessions for both the team and end users. 
Skallkrav

Proven experience as a Jira SM Administrator within Atlassian Cloud environments.
Deep understanding of Jira Service Management Cloud configurations, including workflows, schemes, automation rules and other system functions.
Strong knowledge of Jira Administration best practices and user management.
Familiarity with scripting (JavaScript, Python) for customization in case required.
Hands-on experience using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner for Cloud, or similar apps.
Solid understanding of Agile/SAFe methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and their implementation in Jira.
Certifications within the Cloud area, such as Atlassian Certified Administrator or similar.
Proven knowledge of ITSM concepts, either from relevant work experience or ITIL Certification.
Strong communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical configurations.
Proficiency in English, written and spoken.

Börkrav

Exposure to REST API integrations or Forge app development.
Basic understanding of other products in the Atlassian ecosystem.
Experience working in a multi-team or enterprise-scale Jira instance.
Knowledge of Azure App Registrations, Entra ID Group provisioning and similar concepts.
Experience working for or with Atlassian Partners.
Experience working with Scandinavian organisations.
