Description:
Electrical/Electronic Engineering encompasses the planning, design, development, testing, installation, and co-ordination of related activities involving electrical/electronic components and systems, including automation. It also co-ordinates activities internally and with other groups to effectively accomplish objectives requiring knowledge of associated functions and related engineering fields. Use computers and selected programs for such matters as preparing reports and conducting analyses.
Independently and leading other engineers, perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices, towards set goals. Lead, plan, conduct and coordinate a range of complex engineering activities encompassing one or more engineering disciplines. Serve as consultant to management and customers regarding advanced technical studies, their potential application and the resolution of complex problems. Coordinate major engineering tasks of substantial impact to HITACHI ENERGY. Proactively develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction.
Minimum requirements of education and experience:
• Minimum six (6) years of work experience within the relevant field including leadership/management and a bachelor or master’s degree or
• Another technical degree with more than 15 years of work experience within relevant field.
• Working command of the English language.

Tasks
The department HVDC Engineering Plant Electrical Design manages the delivery of auxiliary power system for the HVDC stations. Design of this system is complex and depending on information from both internal and external stakeholders. System design, selectivity studies, equipment specification, cable and cable transit systems are part of the scope. The system we manage includes equipment such as: Auxiliary Transformers, Medium & Low voltage switchgear, Diesel Generator Systems, Batteries, UPS and Power cables. To be able to deliver the system in a safe and reliable way we are now searching for Design Leads to strengthen our team:
Senior Project Engineer – Design Lead Auxiliary Power systems and equipment.
As Design Lead you will have the overall responsibility for the department’s scope of delivery regarding auxiliary power equipment for an HVDC station and will ensure that our deliveries are time and cost efficient with expected quality. To help you will have a team with skilled designers who you will lead in different kind of projects. Part of your daily work consists of coordinating your teams work tasks, manage contacts with other departments and external suppliers. At ABB you will have a large global network and be part of a stimulating work environment that offers many opportunities to professional growth.
In this positions you can work both in Ludvika or Västerås.
Requirements
Your experience, especially within auxiliary power or selectivity studies or leading installation/commissioning of low voltage equipment in the past, will play an important part to your success in this position. If you, for e.g., are an experienced technician that wants to take the next step in your career and focus on the design part, this is the right fit for you. It is considered a merit if you have knowledge of different CAD-tools that handles both electrical circuit diagrams and layouts.
As you will be part of an international company it is important that you are fluent in spoken and written English. Excellent team working skills are another prerequisite. You should be used to managing several tasks simultaneously, without losing the overall perspective. The position may require some travelling for customer and supplier meetings as well as site supervision. Finally, you should be a person who brings a lot of energy into the group and has a natural ability to make crucial decisions.

Remote work: flexible; mandatory visits to office mandatory on occasion.
Languages: English mandatory – Swedish good to have.

PLEASE NOTE: From the offered hourly rate, the contractual fee of 4.23% (MSP 2,13% + KeyMan 2,1%) will be deducted.
If we end up in a contract the consultant must undergo a drug test before the assignment can start. The consultant then also must have a certificate for SSG-Entré and sign a NDA.
Some remote work WITHIN SWEDEN is possible – flexible; mandatory visits to office mandatory on occasion.
